Cloud Platform Manager to lead and be accountable for the design, delivery, and operational excellence of Cloud Platform tools

Our managed services client is seeking a Cloud Platforms Manager (10+ years) to lead design, delivery, and operational excellence across Modern Workplace, Endpoint Management, and Azure Cloud environments for their end client.

This role holds technical accountability for Entra ID, Intune / Endpoint Manager, and Azure platforms supporting secure, scalable production services. The position provides visibility across Architecture, Security, and Operations teams to align technology services with enterprise standards and business outcomes. It represents a key leadership opportunity within a high-impact infrastructure portfolio.

Location: Remote, Ontario - occasional travel to end client site in Kincardine, ON

Responsibilities

• Own operational excellence for all managed cloud and End User Computing (EUC) services, including incident, problem, and change management practices. Ensure effective change risk identification, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement to maintain platform reliability and service stability.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex operational, project, and IT security issues, coordinating resolution across engineering, security, and architecture teams as required.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and analysts; raise the overall technical bar through coaching, guidance, and hands-on support. Serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Architecture teams to design and implement zero-trust principles, device compliance strategies, and secure-by-default configurations across the Modern Workplace and Cloud platforms.
• Partner with IT Security and key stakeholders to identify, review, and remediate environmental risks and optimization opportunities, including proactive use of tools such as Azure Advisor.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving modernization, platform reliability, and adoption of design and operational best practices.
• Serve as Technical Lead on projects, providing hands-on technical guidance, architectural oversight, and coordination between project managers, engineers, stakeholders, and dependent teams.
• Drive the creation, maintenance, and adoption of standard processes, self-service capabilities, and automation to improve scalability, consistency, and efficiency of service delivery.
• Act as the technical liaison between leadership and EUC, Cloud Platform, and Productivity Services teams, translating strategy into actionable technical execution.
• Hold engineers accountable to role expectations, technical standards, and operational responsibilities, ensuring high-quality outcomes and professional growth.

Must Haves

• Azure platform operations experience including governance, RBAC, policy management, and platform reliability
• 6-8+ years in Modern Workplace, Endpoint /EUC Management, or Azure including 3-5+ years in technical tactical leadership for production services
• Deep knowledge of Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust device access integration with endpoint security tooling
• Strong ITSM background including incident, problem, change management, and CAB governance
• Demonstrated SRE mindset focused on monitoring, reliability improvements, and automation-driven operational excellence
• Nuclear-level clearance required - can start with pending
