AI Software Developer skilled in Generative AI, PySpark and Databricks to build and productionize AI and Analytics solutions

Seeking an AI Software Developer skilled in Generative AI, PySpark and Databricks to build and productionize AI and Analytics solutions.

Duration: 6 months to start - possibility of extension

Work: 100% remote (preference is for candidates in Calgary but as long as you are willing to work MST hours that if okay).

Must Have Skills

• Previous experience as a software developer on AI and analytics solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Databricks and PySpark building scalable data pipelines and transformations
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, OpenAI APIs, RAG, and vector search/embeddings
• Familiarity with computer vision techniques for document understanding
• Experience with Azure data and AI services (e.g., Azure Document Intelligence)
• Proficiency in SQL and Delta Lake/lakehouse architectures
• Experience building ETL/ELT workflows and orchestrating pipelines (e.g., Databricks Workflows)
• Strong Angular, TypeScript, and HTML/CSS development skills
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices

Nice to Have Skills

• Prior experience working on AI document processing or document understanding solutions
• Exposure to ML machine learning model deployment and monitoring in production
• Familiarity with data governance and MLOps practices
• Strong Data Science background is preferred

What you will be doing:

• Serve as the software developer for multiple AI and analytics initiatives.
• Initially assigned to our Engineering Document AI solution/initiative
• Prototype and productionize AI/ML solutions for new business problems
• Support experimentation, model development, and data pipelines
• Collaborate with analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders on emerging AI use cases
