Title: IT Project Manager

Location: 100 Adelaide St W, Toronto (Hybrid - 4 days/week onsite)

Contract Length: 12 Months

Target Start: End of March

Interview Process: One in‑person interview (March 16-23)

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands‑on, delivery‑focused Project Manager to support complex initiatives across Capital Markets, Private Markets, Finance, Corporate domains, AI programs, and data platform transformation. This role requires someone who thrives in hybrid delivery environments (mix of Agile + waterfall), communicates exceptionally well with technical and business teams, and can manage multiple concurrent projects while staying close to the ground. You will work across cross‑functional teams including data engineers, platform teams, finance partners, capital markets stakeholders, and AI/analytics teams, to plan, track, and deliver key initiatives. This is not a purely traditional PM role: the ideal candidate is highly collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable supporting delivery in fast‑moving environments.

Must‑Have Qualifications

Experience & Methodology

  • 3-8+ years of IT Project Management experience.
  • Strong experience with hybrid delivery (Agile concepts + traditional PM practices).
  • Ability to break down work into manageable increments even when requirements are ambiguous.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional technology delivery teams.
  • Azure DevOps (ADO) proficiency for planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to translate technical topics into clear business language.
  • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders across business and technology.
  • Ability to manage risk, ambiguity, change, and shifting priorities.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, system interactions, and logical workflow management.
  • Experience in enterprise IT environments with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to manage projects in Capital Markets or Private Markets
  • Hands‑on, proactive, collaborative, and delivery‑driven.
  • Comfortable operating independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

  • PMP or Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience working in financial services, especially Capital Markets or Private Markets.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and IT governance processes.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics projects.
  • Experience delivering HR, Corporate Finance, or data platform initiatives.
  • Knowledge of investment processes and terminology.
  • Experience with Program Management environments and multi‑workstream portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of IT projects across data platforms, AI initiatives, Capital Markets, Private Markets, corporate finance systems, and HR/corporate domains.
  • Operate using a hybrid delivery model, combining elements of waterfall planning with iterative, sprint‑based execution.
  • Break large client requests into logical, trackable work increments (e.g., 2‑week cycles).
  • Lead all Agile‑adjacent ceremonies (planning, prioritization, reviews), even if teams are not pure Scrum.
  • Use Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog, workflow, tasks, tracking, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships across Capital Markets, Private Markets, Finance, HR, Corporate functions, AI teams, and Platform Engineering.
  • Facilitate clear, consistent communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Present status, risks, decisions, and blockers in plain, business‑friendly language.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success & Innovation, Program Managers, and Technology leads.
  • Serve as a highly involved, on‑the‑ground PM (not just a strategist).
  • Proactively remove blockers, escalate risks, negotiate with stakeholders, and facilitate decisions.
  • Monitor team morale, delivery pace, and workflow, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Support preparation of materials for governance and senior leadership forums.
