About the Position:

We are seeking responsible and dynamic individuals to join our list of Casual Uncertified Short-term Teachers on Call. Preference will be given to individuals with a demonstrated work history or volunteer experience working with children and youth.

Start date: Candidates must be available to attend new hire training from September 22 to September 26, 2025, to be considered in this hiring cohort.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and ensure the safety of students in the classroom during the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Carry out learning activities and follow lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and students to support a smooth transition during the teacher's absence.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of each assignment.
Salary Range: $284.34 per day

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent academic qualifications
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in working with children and youth, through employment or volunteer work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
