Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Analyst, Product Control will support the extraction and consolidation of market data on a daily basis, which is used for the valuation of both equity and fixed income derivative products. The will also provide analytical support to the Senior Analysts in Equities Product Control by performing daily mark-to-market valuation & P&L reconciliation on an accurate and timely basis.What you will do?Support of daily P&L production, month-end reporting and reconciliation.Assist in daily valuations and analyze MTM movements by measuring the impact of new deals, amendments, cancellations as well as all other P&L attribution where applicable.Assist with the P&L attribution process. Provide commentary and document large movements in P&L.Assist in the reporting of Daily, MTD and YTD results as required. Compare P&L Estimate vs. Actual results investigate variances and escalate to the Senior Analyst as required.Ensure that all daily P&L submitted by the Senior Analysts are signed-off daily by the Front Office in a timely fashion. Escalate any issues to the Senior Analyst & reporting ManagerAssist in preparing reports to meet ad-hoc requests as necessary for business partnersPrepare and update all daily and monthly procedure manuals and documentation. Obtain a sign-off upon review by the Senior AnalystWork closely with all members of the Product Finance team through cross-training. Assume additional responsibilities as they arise.Assist Senior Analysts in identifying opportunities to improve valuation and risk reports and pro-actively streamline processes to improve productivity.Understand and trouble shoot daily P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of records, in the absence of the primary analyst.Assist and provide feedback to improve process efficiencies.Develop a solid knowledge base of how various derivative products are handled by the various trading systemsAssist the Senior Analyst and Senior Manager with audit requests from both internal and external auditors.What you need to succeed?Must HaveUniversity Degree1+ year of Capital Markets experienceSound knowledge of MS Excel including formulas as well as macrosGood understanding of derivatives productsGood analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work effectively under minimal supervision.Good understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to trading systems and workflowsWillingness to learn and excel in a fast-paced environment.
