Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Advise and lead the development of a programmatic document control and governance strategy, tailored to support the delivery of major capital projects.
  • Establish and counsel leadership on standards for information governance, including compliance frameworks, document lifecycle management, metadata structures, and permissions protocols.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on tools, platforms, and processes that strengthen cross-departmental document and records management practices.
  • Act as a senior advisor to executive and project leadership, ensuring document control practices are aligned with broader capital project governance frameworks (e.g., CPMO/EPMO).
  • Guide, mentor, and influence project teams and stakeholders through training, knowledge transfer, and adoption of best-in-class document governance practices.
  • Advice on compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory alignment, ensuring full traceability and version control across major capital programs.
  • Serve as a trusted partner and thought leader to navigate complex governance challenges and elevate maturity of document control.
Qualifications / Requirements
To succeed in this role, you bring:
  • Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in Document Control, Records Management, or Governance Advisory within large capital project environments, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or the public sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advising executive teams and developing governance strategies, procedures, and systems at a corporate or program level.
  • Strong familiarity with information compliance standards, document lifecycle governance, and large-scale program delivery frameworks.
  • Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS) such as Aconex, SharePoint, or similar enterprise platforms, with the ability to advise on selection, optimization, and enterprise integration.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and public infrastructure governance frameworks is a strong asset.
  • Recognized as a senior leader and advisor, with the ability to command the room, influence stakeholders, and provide authoritative yet collaborative guidance.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with a proven record of driving adoption of governance, best practices across large organizations.
