Job Description:

Senior Technical Consultant, Water/Wastewater - Greater Toronto Region

As we continue to expand our Water/Wastewater (W/WW) practice in Southern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Region (GTR), we are seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to support the growth and development of our W/WW business. This role will focus on providing technical expertise, strategic guidance, and fostering collaboration across teams to deliver innovative solutions for municipal W/WW pump stations, reservoirs, and related infrastructure. With a history of successful projects in the region since 1964, our team is composed of experts dedicated to solving our clients’ most complex challenges. The ideal candidate will bring extensive technical experience and familiarity with municipal clients in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We offer flexibility to work from any of our offices in Southern Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development of strategic objectives and detailed action plans, including business development and delivery strategies, milestones, and reviews.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business development activities and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provides technical expertise to expand our W/WW portfolio of clients and projects.
  • Works closely with project and operational teams to ensure alignment with client needs and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with potential clients, influencers, and key stakeholders, including creating and implementing account management strategies.
  • Supports the utilization of CRM and other data analysis tools to enhance business intelligence and decision-making.
  • Maintains contact with decision-makers and influencers in key customer organizations to identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Coordinates with teams across Canada and the US to share capabilities, insights, and technical resources.
  • Enhances Parsons’ reputation in Southern Ontario by engaging with prospective clients, government agencies, and community organizations.
  • Facilitates business growth by fostering partnerships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, JV partners, and technology providers.
  • Provides technical input to develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets that meet client requirements, and monitors progress to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensures client criteria and project scope are addressed by all engineering disciplines.
  • Expedites distribution of action items following discussions or meetings with clients.
  • Understands client business goals to align project work with their objectives.
  • Participates in decision-making meetings with clients and project teams to provide technical insights and recommendations.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution, along with professional engineering registration in Ontario.
  • 20+ years of related work experience in vertical and linear municipal water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Extensive technical expertise and experience in developing and implementing successful business development strategies.
  • Broad technical background with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization and collaborate across teams.
