About This Opportunity

The Northside General Collaborative Practice in North Sydney, Nova Scotia is searching for a family physician to join this robust and rewarding practice. The successful candidate will join 2 other family physicians, a part time NP, as well as an FPN, LPN and a Social worker. The physicians are also involved with primary hospital care of the inpatients in the Northside General Hospital where the offices are located.
The fully equipped office space with a view of the North Sydney Harbour awaits the right candidate who is looking for that perfect opportunity to join a busy collaborative practice with the benefits of mentorship and very minimal overhead. This opportunity is complete and ready for you to walk in and start working.

Responsibilities
  • delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
  • participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members
Qualifications
  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all family physician must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

North Sydney is a community of 5,700 people (2016) on the eastern shore of Cape Breton Island on the north shore of Sydney Harbour. As the service center for the ferry traffic to Newfoundland and Labrador, North Sydney has several restaurants and hotels locally and in the surrounding area to cater to travelers.
