About This Opportunity

The collaborative practice located at Victoria County Memorial Hospital (VCMH) in Baddeck, Cape Breton is seeking a family physician to join a team of family physicians. Family physicians may also participate in teaching through the family medicine residency program based in Sydney and/or with medical students through Dalhousie University.

VCMH serves a population of approximately 5,500 through inpatient, outpatient, and satellite care. The hospital also houses offices for Home Care Nova Scotia, Public Health, addiction services, and adolescent services. A variety of clinics are held at the hospital including:

  • ophthalmology
  • foot clinics
  • well women’s clinics

Responsibilities
  • run a family practice office/clinics
  • provide call coverage
  • serve a level 4 emergency department
  • care for inpatients at VCMH

Qualifications
  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all family physician must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
