Under the responsibility of the Manager of Business Development - Building Envelop, the position holder fulfills the responsibilities linked to sales technical suport of building envelope and waterproofing products to architects, designers, engineers and contractors specializing in a related field, as well as monitoring major projects in their territory.

  • Is responsible for sales, technical support, and specifications for construction professionals and specialized contractors working in the building envelope sector;
  • Ensures complete geographic coverage of the assigned territory through an effective time and territory management plan;
  • Directly conducts business development activities, leveraging established contacts and following up with all targeted prospects through other methods;
  • Is willing and able to communicate with all levels of hierarchy within the targeted organizations;
  • Conducts demonstrations on construction sites, at client locations, or directly at Mapei facilities;
  • Must stay up-to-date on existing products (through MAPEI/Polyglass training) and be familiar with competitor products; Provides training to key and potential clients;
  • Proactively engages with building envelope industry associations and is willing to serve on technical committees, boards of directors, etc.;
  • Attends trade shows and other events as required;
  • Is able to travel internationally, including to the United States, to attend various trade shows and training sessions;
  • Is able to work a flexible schedule as needed;
  • Is willing and able to assist other sales representatives and internal laboratory staff;
  • Participates in the development of a realistic and profitable sales budget for MAPEI;
  • Maintains an up-to-date customer and contact database using a customer relationship management (CRM) system;
  • Completes reports regularly, including monthly sales reports for the Business Development Manager and others as required;
  • Does any other related tasks.

Compétences recherchées

  • College degree
  • 2 years of experience in sales, custumer service in a similar environment and industry
  • 2 years of experience in a field related to building envelop
  • Valid driving licence
  • Very good English, spoken and written
  • Very good sales and business development skills
  • Building envelope technical certifications/training, an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong mathematical, technical writing, and safety practices
  • Good knowledge of industry standards,  and quality standards
  • Autonomous, courteous, discerning, and persistent
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills. Excellent time management and prioritization skills, strong planning and organizational abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure.
