Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a mission-driven product leader to advance Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) for residents in Long Term Care (LTC) homes —accelerating treatment decisions, reducing costs, and transforming how care is delivered at the bedside.

As Senior Product Manager, you will steward LifeLabs’ multi-faceted POCT solution from its current stage as a pilot in Ontario into a sustainable, high-impact service ready to scale across the complexities of Canadian healthcare.

You will oversee the operational reliability and quality of the program, driving LTC adoption and satisfaction. Drawing together customer insights, clinical outcomes, and testing technology, you will lead service enhancements that deliver measurable benefits to patients, providers, and the broader health system.

Above all, you will champion a culture of continuous learning and innovation—both for yourself and the teams you lead. With a deep curiosity for emerging POCT modalities, quality standards, and clinical processes, you will keep LifeLabs at the forefront of diagnostic excellence and shape a future where fast, accurate testing is the standard of care for every resident.

Your responsibilities will include:

POCT Pilot Execution & Outcomes

  • Orchestrate the day-to-day execution of the POCT pilot across participating LTC sites, ensuring adherence to SOPs and timelines while maintaining focus on overarching program and business objectives.
  • Monitor service KPIs and feedback, resolving issues in collaboration with operations teams, LTC partners, vendors, IT, etc.
  • Act as the program liaison for participating care homes, ensuring high levels of engagement, satisfaction, and responsiveness to their evolving needs.
  • Prioritize and lead expansion phases of the POCT pilot, potentially including the onboarding of additional LTC homes, expanded testing menus, and/or Lab Information Systems (LIS) integrations.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement through a multi-pronged set of feedback and data gathering mechanisms.
  • Coordinate and maintain documentation of the end-to-end service framework, including implementation plans, support procedures, and escalation protocols to guide the efficient rollout across diverse LTC environments.
  • Consolidate pilot learnings into bi-annual reports for the pilot sponsor to share insights and progress.

POCT Service Strategy & Evolution

  • Revise the POCT service model—incorporating clinical, operational, and business insights—including evolving the business case, operating model, and plans for broader deployment.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging POCT technologies to inform long-term product direction.
  • Support Government Partnerships and Business Development teams with the data, insights, and service positioning needed to engage prospective clients and secure new POCT opportunities.

What you bring to the role:

  • University Degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Health Sciences, Business Admin or Public Health.
  • 5 to 10 years in product management or service operations, with at least 3 years in a regulated health tech, diagnostics or healthcare operations setting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-phase projects in regulated healthcare or diagnostics environments, with clear milestones, risk mitigation strategies, and measurable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in developing Minimum Viable Products, proof-of-concept solutions, and early-stage pilot programs with clearly established objectives, success criteria and desired outcomes.
  • Expertise in consulting with clients, understanding their true needs, and co-creating solutions that lead to improved population health outcomes.
  • Deep commitment to customer and patient-centred design, with a demonstrated ability to translate end-user needs into impactful product and service improvements.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operational, technical, and external stakeholder teams to drive forward complex healthcare initiatives.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and resourcefulness; comfortable navigating ambiguity, identifying gaps, and proactively iterating solutions in fast-evolving environments.
  • Ability to understand financial models and operational budgets to support cost-benefit analysis, pricing strategy, and business case development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Track record of fostering respectful, inclusive collaboration across teams with varying perspectives, expertise, and priorities.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in healthcare delivery, diagnostics and/or senior care operations.
  • Familiarity with Canadian lab-quality frameworks, device validation protocols, and privacy legislation (PHIPA)
  • Hands-on experience with POCT instruments (e.g., Abbott i-STAT, Roche Liat) or central-lab analyzers.
  • Understanding of basic internet/networking concepts—subnets, firewalls, site-to-site VPNs—and how they apply to medical-device connectivity.
  • Exposure to HL7, FHIR, or LIS integrations
  • Strength in process mapping and/or service design
