Purpose of the Role

The Consultant, Events Planning & Culture Activation supports the execution of LifeLabs’ engagement, culture, and belonging priorities by planning and delivering employee events, engagement campaigns, and recognition initiatives. Reporting to the Manager, Engagement, Culture & Belonging, this role plays a hands‑on role in coordinating annual events, supporting Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), administering engagement and recognition platforms, and activating programs that elevate employee experience. The Consultant serves as a connector across teams, ensuring employee voices are amplified and culture initiatives are delivered with care, inclusion, and impact.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Events Planning and Engagement Activation:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute annual employee events and engagement initiatives in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Build project plans and monitor progress using structured methodologies and tools to ensure successful implementation and impact measurement.
  • Lead and coordinate engagement‑related campaigns, communications, and events (e.g., Employee Appreciation Week, culture workshops, employee recognition events, engagement activations).
  • Manage event logistics, timelines, vendors, materials, and coordination to ensure smooth execution and a positive employee experience.
  • Support post‑event evaluation and feedback collection to inform continuous improvement.

 

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Belonging:

  • Support the delivery of employee experience, belonging, and inclusion initiatives, with a core focus on Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Act as a key connector with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), DEI stakeholders providing operational and administrative support to ensure alignment with organizational culture and inclusion priorities.
  • Support ERG channels and networks, including administration and moderation where applicable.
  • Help amplify ERG voices and increase awareness, visibility, and participation across the organization through coordinated communications and engagement efforts.
  • Partner with the Manager, Engagement, Culture & Belonging and DEI stakeholders to support inclusive programming and initiatives that enhances participation, connection and equitable employee experiences.

 

Recognition and Engagement Platforms:

  • Serve as administrator for the Achievers recognition platform, including user support, content updates, reporting, and campaign coordination.
  • Support recognition initiatives that reinforce LifeLabs’ values and foster appreciation, connection, and belonging.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and HR partners to support local recognition & engagement initiatives and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.

 

Collaboration and Communications:

  • Work closely with the Manager, Engagement, Culture & Belonging to create and implement engagement and culture priorities.
  • Partner with HR, HR Business Partners, Communications, and other internal stakeholders to align messaging and execution.
  • Support internal communications related to events, ERGs, recognition programs, and culture initiatives.
  • Assist with gathering insights and data to support reporting and program evaluation.

 

Administrative and Financial Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organized records for all events and culture initiatives, including approvals, budgets, contracts, and post‑event documentation
  • Ensure event materials and documentation are stored in shared repositories to support accessibility, continuity, and audit readiness
  • Coordinate invoice submission and processing for event related expenses, ensuring accuracy, approvals, and timely follow‑up
  • Track expenses against approved budgets and flag variances as needed
  • Capture lessons learned and maintain templates to support efficiency and continuous improvement across future initiatives

 

Data, Insights and Reporting:

  • Analyze engagement and culture-related data, prepare dashboards and reports, and share insights with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HR and business analytics teams to track progress against key engagement and culture metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Communications, Event Planning, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 5-6 years of experience in event planning, employee engagement, culture initiatives, internal communications, or a related role.

  • Experience supporting employee programs, recognition initiatives, or ERGs is an asset.

  • Experience working in a multi‑site or complex organization is preferred.

  • Experience using employee engagement or recognition platforms, including administration and system support, is considered an asset. 

  • Proficiency with standard office, collaboration, and communication tools.

What We Offer: Salary range: $ 68,126 - $86,861 CAD annually (commensurate with experience).
