Purpose of the Role

The Business Development Account Manager is responsible for promoting the full range of LifeLabs services to corporate and SMB accounts within assigned business segments. The incumbent executes corporate strategies and segment plans that drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen long-term customer relationships to achieve established sales targets.

 

In this role, the Business Development Account Manager is accountable for sourcing, securing, and onboarding new business and managing existing client relationships, ensuring a seamless customer experience and consistent delivery of value. Leveraging a comprehensive understanding of LifeLabs’ product and service offerings, the Business Development Account Manager identifies opportunities to introduce new solutions that support revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

 

Some travel may be required.

This role is SIP eligible. 

Your responsibilities will include:

Revenue & Targets

  • Identify and develop new business to maximize revenue; Maintain relationships with existing commercial clients and identify opportunities to extend additional LifeLabs’ services (Include but are not limited to):
    • Promote LifeLabs’ full suite of services to client accounts within the assigned segments by executing corporate strategies and segment sales plans to drive revenue and market share growth.
    • Responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing business opportunities to support new revenue growth through product expansion of existing clients including contract renewals.
    • Unlocking new revenue in new business opportunities via inbound lead qualification, generating new leads through proactive outreach, and sales funnel conversion.
    • Onboard new clients and ensure a smooth transition into LifeLabs services.
    • Provide timely responses to client inquiries to maintain strong service levels.
    • Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
    • Conduct monthly dashboard reviews to assess performance, identify trends, and guide client discussions.
    • Create month end slide decks summarizing key metrics, outcomes, and action items.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders and external clients.
    • Collaborate with the Client Partnerships and Engagement team to ensure alignment on customer needs and strategic priorities.
    • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and activities in Salesforce.com.
    • Participate in regular meetings with Senior Manager to review/coordinate sales efforts

 

Handles all account processing and administrative duties

  • Conduct needs analyses to identify customer requirements and clearly communicate the value of LifeLabs services.
  • Prepare and provide accurate sales quotations.
  • Draft and finalize service agreements for new and existing clients.
  • Log and maintain client information using the designated checklist and documentation tools.
  • Ensure full compliance with sales automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, segmentation tools, sales reports, dashboards) and complete all mandatory training and goal setting activities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer specific matters.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., operations, accounts receivable) to ensure customer needs are met promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare monthly reports summarizing industry updates, closed/won and closed/lost opportunities, client calls, and pipeline status.

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services or a related field of study
  • 3-5 years in health services or a related sales role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong needs analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office including excel
  • Strong financial acumen and and contracting experience
  • Proficiency in preparing sales quotations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Customer centric mindset
  • Strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain multilevel  relationships in a complex environment
  • Previous experience in a customer service or project management role
  • Ability to develop and execute segment plans
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills

What We Offer:

Salary range: $68,126- $86,861 CAD annually (commensurate with experience).
