The KPMG Private Enterprise Audit group is looking for Second year Staff Accountants to join its dynamic team.


What you will do

Our team of professionals help our clients manage risk so they can focus on their core business. By intimately understanding each client’s business, we convert information into insights to uncover hidden opportunities to improve client efficiency and performance.

 

 As an Audit Staff Accountant, you will be required to:

  • Conduct external financial statement audits for private, not-for-profit and public sector entities
  • Apply firm audit methodologies and accounting practices at entity engagements.
  • Perform financial and systems analysis, document findings, and conclude on results.
  • Assist seniors in coordinating with Canadian Resource Centers (CRC) and managing audit workflows.
  • Prepare working papers and ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Identify areas for personal development and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • For advanced staff: mentor junior team members and demonstrate leadership during field engagements.

As an Audit professional, you will provide a service that represents a high-value mark for our firm, helping companies assess their risk as they work to ensure transparency across their operations.


What you bring to the role

  • Must have an Accounting/business degree
  • Must have successfully completed the CFE and/or currently registered as a CPA student and working towards the CPA Ontario designation. 
  • 1-2 years of post-graduate experience with a public accounting firm and working towards progression to senior accountant in the next few months. 
  • Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ASPE, ASNPO.  PSAS would be considered an asset. 
  • Effectively monitors multiple or complex projects regularly to check how they are progressing against deadlines and budget.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professional in the performance of duties.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and travel to client sites across the GTA.
