Our Team
As a Manager in Data, Analytics and Automation, you will be a part of our Technology Consulting (Data, Analytics and Automation) practice within KPMG. This is a worldwide network of professionals who collaborate on a daily basis to create value from data. Enterprise Data Management integrates and is the connecting link with other data focused advisory services including Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, Digital Transformation, Enterprise Solutions and Data Security. What you will do
- Define and deliver enterprise data strategies, roadmaps, and operating models aligned to business priorities
- Lead current-state assessments of data capabilities, maturity, governance, and organizational readiness
- Design and implement data transformation plans and business cases to enable data-driven organizations
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to align on data vision, priorities, use cases, and adoption
- Translate business needs into data-driven initiatives and actionable recommendations
- Design and establish data governance frameworks, including ownership, stewardship, decision rights, and policies
- Develop data management capabilities such as metadata, lineage, master data management, and critical data elements (CDEs)
- Lead data quality assessment and remediation, including defining quality dimensions, controls, and monitoring frameworks
- Support regulatory, risk, and compliance alignment (e.g., privacy, financial reporting, data controls)
- Enable trusted analytics through well-governed data, standardized processes, and aligned governance structures
- Advise on the strategic adoption and governance of modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Collibra)
- Define and support data product strategies and domain-based ownership models
- Plan and execute advisory engagements, including strategy development, governance design, business process analysis, and future-state definition
- Develop governance and strategy artifacts such as data glossaries, data quality frameworks, and control models
- Apply technical and industry expertise to solve complex client challenges
- Contribute to business development through thought leadership, proposal development, and client presentations
What you bring to the role
- A completed MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or Data Science
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management or data strategy.
- 5+ years of experience in a consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and data management best practices (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM)
- Strong experience in data strategy, roadmap development, and operating model design
- Ability to translate business strategy into data-enabled transformation initiatives
- Experience designing data quality frameworks and governance operating models
- A completed industry-recognized certification (CDMP or DCAM)
- Strong understanding of regulatory and risk considerations (especially in financial services or insurance)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage business and technical stakeholders
- Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Atlan, Attacama) considered an asset
- Collaborative mindset with interest in building and scaling governance capabilities
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally based on client and project needs
KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $103,000 to $135,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
