Key Responsibilities
As a Packaging Team Member, you will play a key role in the preparation, assembly, and packaging of products to meet production and quality standards. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment will help ensure the smooth operation of our packaging lines. You may be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist in the setup and operation of packaging equipment, including cartoners, labelers, blister lines, and weigh checkers.
- Manually assemble trays, master cases, and other secondary packaging components according to work order specifications.
- Place products into packaging, apply promotional materials or labels, and prepare goods for final shipment.
- Conduct in-process and final quality checks to ensure product accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Open product boxes, cut shrink wrap, and prepare materials for packaging or further processing.
- Assemble and wrap skids/pallets and move finished goods to designated staging areas using manual hand jacks or similar equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift; remove garbage and recyclables at the end of each order.
- Accurately complete all required documentation following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company SOPs.
- Safely lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs; perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Collaborate with team members and perform additional duties as assigned by the Packaging Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Hand.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently during shifts.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to follow instructions.
- Physical fitness and endurance for repetitive lifting, bending, and standing.
- Commitment to reliability and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary certificate in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Additional Information
- Candidates must pass an online pre-qualification exam (access to a desktop or laptop computer is required).
- A minimum 12-month commitment to the position is required before considering internal position changes.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
Compensation and Shift Details
- Starting wage: $15.80 - $17.75 per hour. Wages will be increased based on hours of work completed and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday
- Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday-Friday (+ $0.80/hour premium).
- Night Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday (+ $1.05/hour premium).
- Training may be scheduled on a different shift.
- Limited public transportation is available; personal transportation is required.
IVC Vita Health is operational 5 days a week, 24 hours per day; candidates with open availability and access to personal transportation for both the evening and nights shifts will be considered before those with limited availability.
