ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Located in the heart of Toronto, our client is made up a team of strong lawyers with a diverse portfolio of cases across various areas of law, with a robust specialization in General Litigation. Not only that, but with their strong initiatives to promote diversity within the firm, they can proudly provide legal services in over 15 languages. Now with an expansion of their team, they’re looking for a new Legal Administrative Assistant to join!

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Working in a progressive and remote-first team, you’ll only be required to come to the office a minimum of 1 day per week after the probation period - the perfect opportunity to catch up with your teammates! With big growth plans in the works, there’ll be countless growth opportunities down the line, especially if growing into a Law Clerk is an ambition of yours.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Supporting 2 lawyers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing daily correspondence
  • Drafting briefs, pleadings and letters
  • Scheduling trials and discoveries
  • Preparing legal documents for trial
  • Managing lawyers’ schedules
  • Maintaining an effective bring forward system
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail
  • Delegating tasks to junior Legal Administrative Assistants
  • Providing file progress updates to clients

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant
  • Experience in Litigation is a MUST
  • A Legal Administrative Assistant certificate is an asset
  • Proficiency in any legal document management software (e.g. iManage)

COMPENSATION

  • $50,000 - $65,000 (depending on experience)
