Are you an experienced Family Lawyer who is a solo-practitioner seeking for more legal support, marketing or financial resources, and administrative help? Or are you an experienced Family Lawyer at a firm who seeks change? We are seeking experienced Family Lawyers to join our client, who is a full-service large regional law firm in Downtown, Toronto. We are actively seeking individuals with a book of business that they can bring.

ABOUT THE COMPANY AND THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client, a Top Regional Law firm in Toronto, Ontario is looking for an experienced Family Lawyer with at least 5+ years of experience and a book of business to bring with them. This is an excellent opportunity to work at a full-service law firm with plenty of financial resources, legal support, and administrative support to assist with your business. At this law firm, lawyers work with high net worth clientele, with many of the work trickling down from their corporate practice group. The ideal candidate for this position already possess a partial or full book of business, capable of generating new business, and has some trial experience (second chair minimum preferred). This is a small, intimate team, so we are looking for individuals with a bright personality to work alongside with, as well.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their needs
  • Thoroughly research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to family law cases in Ontario
  • Manage family law files independently, including document preparation, filings, and deadlines
  • Represent clients in family court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediation sessions, and present evidence and arguments
  • Advocate for clients, ensuring their rights are protected and their interest are served
  • Facilitate conflict resolution through alternative dispute resolutions
  • Assist senior counsel on complex matters

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5+ years in Family Law in Ontario
  • Licensed in Ontario
  • Excellent academics (B student and/or greater)
  • Strong writing skills
  • Some trial experience preferred
  • A portable book of business (partial or full starting at $150,000K revenue/year in the last two years)

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION

  • $150,000 - $185,000/year base salary DOE
