Commercial Auto/Transportation Underwriter

We’re partnering with a well-established and growing Managing General Agent (MGA) in the Canadian insurance market to find a talented Commercial Auto/Transportation Underwriter. Compensation

• Base salary: $75,000 to $105,000 or more depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and managing a portfolio of medium to large commercial Transportation fleet risks - new business, renewals, and endorsements
• Negotiating terms and conditions with brokers within your delegated authority
• Building and maintaining strong broker and stakeholder relationships
• Mentoring junior underwriters and contributing to team development
• Supporting improvements to underwriting guidelines, processes, and workflows
• Representing the organization at industry events and broker meetings
• Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure seamless broker and client experiences
• Contributing to profitable portfolio growth

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial auto underwriting experience (long-haul trucking experience is a strong asset)
• CIP designation (completed or in progress)
• RIBO license or willingness to obtain
• Familiarity with domestic carriers and/or Lloyd’s of London markets is an asset
