Civil Estimator

Our client is a well-established civil construction contractor based in the Fraser Valley, delivering municipal and development-related infrastructure projects throughout the Lower Mainland. About The Position
As a Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of municipal and civil construction projects. This is a remote-first role suited to an experienced estimator who values autonomy, collaboration, and hands-on involvement in the bidding process.

• MUST HAVE 5+ years’ experience with a strong background in municipal/civil construction estimating
• This role will be suitable for Candidate local to Vancouver Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley (BC)

Location: Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley (BC)

• Remote-first / Work-from-home
• Must be able to attend site walks and pre-bid meetings as required
• Occasional visits to the Abbotsford-area office

Compensation details:
Base Salary: $130,000-$160,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Main duties:
Pre-Bid & Estimating

• Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings as required.
• Perform quantity take-offs for civil scopes (earthworks, roadworks, utilities).
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and bid summaries.
• Identify risks, constructability issues, and value opportunities.

Tender Submission & Handover

• Collaborate with ownership and project teams during bid reviews.
• Assist with bid strategy, pricing adjustments, and final submissions.
• Support handover to project management after award.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with internal teams in a small, collaborative environment.
• Contribute to improving estimating processes and consistency.
• Maintain honest, clear communication throughout the bid cycle.

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of civil construction estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of municipal civil work, including roads and utilities.
• Comfortable managing multiple bids with varying deadlines.
• Proficiency with construction software.
• Experience with municipal tendering processes in BC.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; ability to travel to active sites daily.
