Position overview:

As an integral member of our structural department, your main role will be the preparation of structural drawings, including the layout, modeling, and development of general arrangements and details for conveyors and associated heavy industrial structures, equipment, piping, and pipe supports. Review shop drawings for steel and concrete structures. Travel to job sites on a short-term basis for field measurements, condition inspections, or construction management may be required.

• The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  ·        Minimum two years of experience relevant to design of steel structures and concrete foundation.  Experience relevant to marine terminals and other bulk materials handling facilities would be an asset.

  ·        Formal education in design and drafting is preferred.

  ·        Experience in setting up and using Revit for large industrial facilities would be an asset.

  ·        Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Plant 3D, Navisworks or other similar software packages would also be an asset.

  ·        A demonstrated ability to apply design criteria, industry standards, and client specifications.

  ·        Experience working in a steel fabrication shop is considered an asset but is not required.

  ·        A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants.

  ·        Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.

  ·        Strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills.

  ·        A valid BC driver’s license is considered an asset but is not required.
