Humber River Health. Lighting New Ways in Healthcare.

 

Humber River Health (“HRH”) is a prominent 1.8 million square foot, fully digital acute care facility in Canada, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and catering to a wide range of medical needs. It serves a population of over 850,000 individuals residing in the northwest Greater Toronto Area. HRH operates 722 acute inpatient beds at the Wilson site, with over 4000 staff, approximately 800 physicians and over 1,000 volunteers. HRH also includes the Reactivation Care Centres (“RCCs”) at the Finch and Church Campuses which represent a unique partnership among multiple hospitals in the GTA with a focus on delivery of specialised care to patients who have been designated as Alternative Level of Care.

 

As Canada’s first fully digital hospital and home of the first digital Command Centre in Canada, our commitment to innovation, research, and academic excellence remains at the core of our organization. The HRH Research Institute drives the hospital’s pioneering position in digital healthcare innovation. Our Command Centre serves as the central hub for managing patient flow and enhancing care quality. We prioritize patient safety and high-reliability care by leveraging closed-loop automation, robotics, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence. We have developed advanced patient flow and care monitoring tools supported by the Command Centre, enabling us to use real-time data feeds from across the Hospital to improve patient flow, patient safety and outcomes.

Position Summary

The radiologists at Humber River Health, Toronto are seeking one Full-Time Diagnostic Radiologist who has completed a subspecialty fellowship.  Areas of particular interest include Body Imaging, Ultrasound, or Musculoskeletal Imaging.

The successful candidate will join a team of 18 radiologists. 

The potential start date for this position is Summer, 2026.

Our department provides acute and outpatient multi-modality imaging services to a large community in Central Toronto.  We offer a full range of imaging and procedures as part of our MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services.Our practice includes a wide variety of body, neuro, MSK, cardiac, women's, and men's imaging.  Our practice services a large patient volume including oncology, dialysis, orthopedics, urology, sports medicine, as well as a broad range of other acute and community health concerns.

As a member of TAHSN, HRH provides placements for medical learners at all levels. The successful candidate will have a recognized interest in education initiatives, including the teaching, supervision and mentoring of medical learners. Applicants must have or be eligible for a faculty appointment in the appropriate clinical department at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.

 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

 

Candidates for this position should be proficient in MR, CT, ultrasound, plain films, basic fluoroscopy, and basic image guided biopsies (eg. thyroid, prostate).  Musculoskeletal ultrasound and procedural skills would be an asset.Optional skillsets include nuclear medicine, cardiac imaging, and advanced procedures, though we are not directly seeking specialists in these areas specifically.Candidates must have specialty certification in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.  Candidates must also have completed a subspecialty post-residency Fellowship.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wishes to provide excellent clinical services in a collegial and collaborative work environment. The candidate should be specialized, up-to-date, expert, eager to both teach and learn from colleagues and technologists, as well as compassionate and strongly support quality improvement.  Leadership potential and an interest in innovation would be considered favourably.
