Job Description: The Nurse Educator provides development initiatives and leadership in these spheres of nursing:  clinical practice, education, research and quality improvement.  The position reports to the Nursing Unit Manager of the Ambulatory Care Department.  The incumbent is self-directed and requires minimum supervision.

Experience

• 3 years experience as an RN in an emergency or critical care environment
• Previous experience in nursing education is required
• Experience with planning, implementation, quality monitoring and evaluation.

Education

• Critical Care Nursing certificate (CCN)
• Masters of Continuing Education
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certificate (ACLS)
• Registered Nurse (RN)

Other Education and Training

• Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
