Job Description:  Reporting to the Manager of the Nursing Unit, the Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care and service is provided on the Nursing Unit.  As an experienced practitioner, the Resident Care Coordinator acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise, co-ordination of resident care, and support and teaching to the care team (including residents and residents' families) within a collaborative environment.  The incumbent must be able to multitask and be physically able to respond quickly to emergent situations, as he/she is the immediate supervisor on the unit. The routine procedures are generally predetermined but critical thinking and independent judgment is an integral part of the position.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant long term care nursing experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)

Other Education and Training

  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable

  • Successful applicants will be assigned to a wing within the facility- Subject to change
  • Registered/eligible to be registered with RPNAS (Reg Psych Nurses Assoc of Sask)
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
