Position Summary
The VP of Marketing is responsible for setting and executing the global brand strategy to drive consumer awareness, trial, and
sustained growth across the U.S. and Canada. This role owns brand strategy, innovation support, and go-to-market execution,
including the development of new brands post-incubation.
Leading a global marketing centre of excellence, the VP Marketing partners closely with commercial, innovation, and market teams
to deliver consumer-centric, insight-led marketing that drives market share, revenue, and margin growth. This role reports directly to the
President.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Growth Strategy
  • Translate business objectives into clear brand strategies and global marketing plans
  • Define brand positioning, portfolio strategy, pricing guardrails, and agency partnerships
  • Champion consumer insights, category trends, and innovation to support product development and new category entry
Execution & Go-to-Market
  • Lead integrated marketing programs across paid, earned, and owned channels (advertising, digital, PR, social, packaging, websites)
  • Oversee global brand campaigns, new product launches, and packaging development with strong local market execution
  • Ensure consistent brand standards while enabling market agility
Agency & Partner Management
  • Set agency strategy and manage external partners across creative, media, PR, and digital
  • Maximize earned media, endorsements, and brand visibility
Business & Performance Management
  • Own the global marketing budget and oversee spend effectiveness
  • Establish KPIs and benchmarks to measure marketing efficiency and ROI
  • Ensure sustainable brand growth within global strategic guardrails
People Leadership
  • Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team across markets
  • Build marketing capability, succession, and talent depth

Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of senior B2C brand marketing experience within high-growth FMCG (U.S./Canada required)
  • 10+ years leading and developing teams; strong cross-functional leadership
  • P&L ownership and commercial acumen
  • Experience building brands across multiple markets and cultures
  • Strong agency management and integrated marketing expertise
  • Knowledge of the pet food or adjacent consumer categories preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business (MBA an asset)
