We are currently looking to fill a Full Time opportunity for Manager, Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) & South Asian Health Institute (SAHI).

Detailed Overview
Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
The Manager, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) & South Asian Health Institute (SAHI) is responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing, and managing staff and activities related to the EDI and SAHI programs across Fraser Health. Collaborates with and works across programs, sites, communities, leaders, and staff to advance program priorities as appropriate. Manages, develops and implements new strategies, policies, procedures, and frameworks that incorporate program principles into clinical care and program delivery.
Manages staff within the EDI and SAHI programs and oversees related budgets. Leads projects, proposes new initiatives, and oversees quality improvement activities.
Responsibilities
- Manages the overall planning, development and implementation of activities related to both EDI and SAHI programs across Fraser Health to ensure program objectives are being met and outcomes remain aligned with Fraser Health’s vision, mission and strategic priorities.
- Acts as a resource to Fraser Health leadership by providing coaching, mentoring, subject matter expertise, facilitating consensus on EDI matters and providing recommendations on specific questions or issues that arise for embedding EDI throughout the continuum of services in Fraser Health.
- Manages targeted health promotion, planning, implementation and evaluation of services across FH to improve the health and health outcomes of the South Asian Population and ensures best practices and South Asian perspectives are incorporated.
- Oversees the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with program objectives.
- Establishing baseline metrics and key performance indicators for EDI & SAHI programs through collecting and analyzing data; measures progress and impact to help inform decisions and identify new opportunities and approaches to address systematic bias and organizational barriers.
- Assesses the impact of strategic initiatives from a systems perspective and manages the impacts and interdependencies with other initiatives. Evaluates Fraser Health programs and services and identifies areas where EDI initiatives could be introduced.
- Collaborates with Internal departments such as leaders from Aboriginal Health, Professional Practice, Employee Experience, Population Health and External community partners to develop an integrated approach to Diversity, Anti-Racism, Cultural Safety and Humility, Psychological Safety, Equity and Inclusion across the region, translating strategy into new model of business that embeds EDI into all levels of Fraser Health operations.
- Manages assigned staff with clear definitions of responsibility and levels of authority. Evaluates performance to improve individual and organizational performance, taking corrective action as needed in accordance with Fraser Health's policies and procedures; and administers, with support from human resources, collective agreements and management terms and conditions.
- Prepares and manages budgets for the EDI and SAHI departments; monitors expenditures and provides various reports as required.
- In collaboration with the Director, Priority Populations, EDI and SAHI, develops and recommends department structures and related budgets that align with program and financial requirements.
- Ensures that the EDI and SAHI planning, implementation, content development, and community/engagement initiatives are in strong alignment with the BC's Human Rights Code, BC's Office of Human Rights Commissioner, Health Professions Act and Accessible BC Act.
- Leads and participates in various Fraser Health projects and committees related to EDI and SAHI.
- Represents the departments on related internal and external committees, educational forums, professional associations, and regulatory bodies at the site, program, regional and provincial levels.
Master's degree in health care management, public health or a related field plus minimum seven (7) years of recent related experience in a complex health care environment working in the diversity field, community engagement and strategic development.

- Strong understanding of how to build diversity competency in the healthcare context.
- Ability to lead and move forward complex organizational change across clinical programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations.
- Ability to incorporate program objectives within the broader context of the health delivery system and multiple program requirements.
- Ability to influence and work effectively with leaders and staff at all levels and establish partnerships in a wide variety of health care settings.
- Ability to shape organizational culture to be more equitable and safe.
- Ability to manage staff effectively and ensure program objectives are being met.
- Ability to manage related department budgets.
- Knowledge of project management principles and techniques in a large, complex health care environment.
- Ability to utilize applicable software applications.
