Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking three part-time Executive Medical Directors, Medical Affairs & Medical Staff Services to provide senior medical leadership across Medical Affairs and Medical Staff Services in the South (0.70 FTE), East (0.60 FTE), and North (0.60 FTE) regions.

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Medicine, this role supports physician engagement, credentialing, performance evaluation, wellness initiatives, and policy development while fostering consistent medical leadership across the region. The Executive Medical Director (EMD) works closely with Medical Staff Leadership, HAMAC, and executive partners to advance system integration, quality of care, and the medical staff experience.

 

The EMD plays a key leadership role in strategic planning, medical staff human resources, complaint resolution, and quality improvement. This position supports Regional Medical Directors and Regional Department Heads, provides oversight for standards of care and performance monitoring, and strengthens knowledge-sharing across the organization. The Executive Medical Director, Medical Affairs & Medical Staff Services also participates in medical education partnerships, governance forums, and provincial committees, contributing to health system design and the advancement of medical practice across Fraser Health.

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of appropriate medical training and current licensure with the appropriate regulatory body in BC.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of senior medical leadership experience in healthcare.
  • Eligible for Fraser Health Medical Staff appointment.
  • Master’s degree in Health or Business Administration preferred and experience in medical quality, standardization and recruitment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical quality, credentialing, performance evaluation, and physician engagement.
  • Additional leadership training is preferred, particularly in contracts and negotiations.

Strong leadership capabilities, collaboration skills, and experience navigating complex organizational change are essential to success in this role.
