Job Description:

Internal Audit (IA) contributes to the company through the execution of high quality audit services, which help our clients pro-actively manage risks in their business. The Senior IT Applications Auditor is a specialist role within IA and reports to the Senior Manager, IT Application Audit. This role involves significant client interaction and management of multiple relationships.

What will you do?

  • Assist the Director IT Application Audit in planning, executing and reporting audit work

  • Execute multiple complex high profile audit engagements

  • Work with business auditors to understand critical controls (including data quality assurance) enabled by IT applications

  • Identify opportunities for developing and using analytics during audit execution

  • Assess how applications support business processing

  • Ensure proper coverage and consideration of auditing principles, practice and assigned time/budget

What do you need to succeed?

  • University degree and professional audit designation (e.g. CISA, CISM, CIA)

  • Professional IT Applications Audit experience (in the financial services industry preferred)

  • Knowledge and experience auditing Capital Market/Capital Management environments

  • Knowledge and application of IT processes, risk and controls (ITGCs, Automated Controls, Report Testing)

  • Expertise in audit techniques, including planning, scoping, project management, evaluation and testing of internal controls

  • Knowledge of Risk Management and Operational Risk frameworks

  • Knowledge of control frameworks (e.g. COSO, COBIT, etc)

Preferred skills and competencies:

  • Proven ability to work in multiple tasks/projects

  • Ability to understand complex business processes and identify key risks and controls

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate, influence and network effectively

  • Excellent written and communication skills, with ability to lead meetings

  • Pro-active, dedicated, flexible, demonstrating good practical judgement and taking initiative

  • Team player, ability to multi-task, detail oriented, strong commitment to quality, and consultative skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to understand complex business processes, their risks and identify key controls

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
