Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Insurance Oversight Programs, the Insurance Analyst will provide comprehensive oversight support from a technical perspective to the oversight teams for Sun Life Financial Distribution (SLFD), Independent Distribution (ID) and Prospr. This role will leverage and develop technical capabilities to provide visibility and support across all three insurance distribution channels (SLFD, ID, and Prospr), proactively identifying risks to inform oversight teams. In addition, the Insurance Analyst will identify risks through data analysis, trending, deliver timely reporting and maintain up-to-date trackers. The Analyst role serves as the backbone support to the oversight programs from an administrative perspective and this role is an introductory pathway into the insurance space within Business Governance and Controls (BG&C).

What will you do?

Coordination:

  • Deliver support for Insurance Supervision and Audit programs

  • Manage team inboxes and correspondence

  • Maintain and update audit and review trackers

  • Data management for reporting across programs

  • Execute Quality Assurance video reviews for ID

  • Manage SharePoint sites and documentation

  • Manage cyber and privacy incident tracking and reporting

  • Provide Business Continuity Plan (BCP) support

Technical:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Excel and PowerPoint

  • Generate and deliver timely reports using Excel, Tableau and other digital tools

  • Generate persistency reporting for Managing General Agencies (MGAs)

  • Support data and other requests from regulatory bodies (e.g. Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR), provincial authority/council)

  • Lead digital program enhancements

  • Provide digital and technical support to Insurance oversight teams

  • Data analysis across Insurance oversight teams

  • Send and receive annual Compliance Review Survey (CRS) requests for the ID channel

What you need to succeed:

  • Have strong technical and digital capabilities

  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills

  • Experienced in SharePoint and tracking system management

  • Able to use technical tools for Survey design and management

  • Knowledge of Insurance products, internal systems and processes

  • Wanting to gain more knowledge of insurance regulatory landscape that govern Insurance business

  • Organized, and able to prioritize and adapt to multiple requests efficiently

  • Have strong written and verbal communication

  • Enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration work

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
