Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Change Management Specialist to join our Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team. The CRE team plays a critical role in supporting our business operations and ensuring our workspaces are optimized for productivity and employee well-being. Reporting to the Workplace Change Program Manager, the Change Specialist is a key member of a team that supports strategy, design and project teams in implementing new workspaces at our Sun Life offices. The Change Specialist will be responsible for creating and managing change management activities to support employees through changes in the workplace.

What will you do?

Change Management/Communications

  • Create and execute robust change management strategies and plans across multiple projects in Canada and the U.S. that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance

  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders; as well as leveraging data to drive change analyses and decisions

  • Provide day-to-day change management advice and counsel to internal partners and project teams as assigned

  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of change management strategies and make necessary adjustments

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and maintain a deep understanding of stakeholder impacts

  • Provide coaching and support to leaders (including Managers, Directors and VP+) to help them lead their teams through change

Communications

  • Develop clear, concise, and compelling communication materials, including emails, presentations, and reports, to articulate the vision, benefits, and progress of change initiatives

Project/Program Management

  • Develop, update and maintain the change management components of project plans maintained by Corporate Real Estate’s project delivery team

  • Collaborate with project and internal teams to deliver holistic solutions to impacted stakeholders

  • Continue to build “change management” culture, through maintenance of corporate intranet pages, workplace posts, email communications, etc.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong change management and project management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment

  • Strong team player who works well with other team members and business partners

  • University degree in a related field (business, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, etc.) is preferred

  • Change Management Certification (e.g., Prosci or other Change Management certifications) is preferred

  • 3+ years change management experience

  • Previous experience in a Corporate Real Estate environment is preferred, but not required

  • Experience developing employee communications (including decks, emails etc.)

  • Experience in facilitating workshops, meetings and focus groups

  • Experience working with data analytics to make data-driven recommendations

  • Familiarity with various communications channels (print, online, audio, video, podcast, blog, etc.)

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
