Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, LTC Standards , the Consultant, LTC Standards - Redevelopment Operations plays a pivotal role in supporting long-term care (LTC) homes through the transition from current homes to newly redeveloped homes. This position focuses on operational readiness, collaboration, and quality improvement to ensure a seamless move and enhanced resident and staff member experience.

Working closely with the redevelopment team and other stakeholders, the Consultant will provide hands-on support, strategic planning, and coordination across multiple domains including resident relocation, staff orientation, and home activation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Active participation in regular cross-functional meetings, including LTC home, Operations SME, HR & Recruitment, Redevelopment, and Resident/Family/Staff Town Halls

  • Assist with the creation of resources (resident roster, development of a detailed move plan, including room allocations and task assignments).

  • Support communication efforts with residents and families:

  • Develop transition & welcome packages

  • Create and update presentations & FAQs to support communication (Town Halls)

  • Contribute to the creation of new job routines and operational workflows.

  • Facilitate general orientation for staff and residents.

  • Assist with home setup and activation, ensuring operational readiness.

  • Participate in recruitment & onboarding activities such as interviews and reference checks.

  • Maintain and update project management tracking tools in alignment with project timelines.

  • Conduct site visits to support transition activities (as scheduled with the redevelopment team).

  • Ensure consistent and effective communication with all members of the redevelopment team.

  • Adapt responsibilities as needed based on evolving projects and home operational requirements.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in long-term care operations

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Ability to travel extensively across Ontario.

  • Proficiency in collaborative tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Background in nursing, health administration, or a related field is an asset.

  • Experience in redevelopment (an asset)
