Job Description

Are you a motivated student eager to gain hands-on experience in the field of environmental science and chemistry? Join our team as a Summer Laboratory Intern and embark on a rewarding journey of learning and professional development. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while honing your skills in a supportive and dynamic laboratory environment.

Duties included but not limited to:

  • Assist in sample preparation for lead in paint and Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) under the guidance of experienced laboratory staff.
  • Support the safe disposal of lead digestate samples, following established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in sample preparation for respirable silica filters, gaining valuable insights into environmental monitoring procedures.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a relevant degree program, with a strong emphasis on inorganic chemistry.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude towards professional development.
