Job DescriptionThe HR Associate serves as the key liaison between the local business unit and the corporate HR team, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on human resources activities. This role supports the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on recruitment coordination, onboarding, training support, and basic employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the local site and corporate HR for all HR-related matters.
- Assist in the full cycle recruitment process: sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating background checks.
- Facilitate new employee onboarding, ensuring all documentation, training materials, and orientation sessions are completed accurately and timely.
- Maintain and update employee training binders and track training completion for compliance and development purposes.
- Assist in performance management processes and documentation
- Assist with basic employee relations matters by documenting concerns, escalating issues as needed, and providing basic general support to employees and managers.
- Assist in organizing and supporting internal HR initiatives such as employee engagement events, recognition programs, and training sessions.
- Coordinate the offboarding process, including exit interview scheduling, retrieval of company assets, deactivation of system access, and ensuring proper documentation is completed.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws and regulations
- Participate in special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- University or College Degree/Diploma in Human Resources.
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR support or coordination role.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Canadian labor laws and HR best practices

WORKING CONDITIONS: This HR Associate role is based onsite at a regulated testing laboratory, serving as the main point of contact between the local lab operations and the corporate HR team. The position involves direct interaction with lab staff and management to support the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, while ensuring alignment with corporate HR policies. The role will be office-based, with occasional visits to the laboratory for HR-related tasks. The lab environment may involve exposure to chemicals, laboratory equipment, and safety protocols.
