We are currently recruiting for an Advisor General Accounting & Affiliates. Within this role you will perform complex accounting and accounting research analysis for GDS (Gas Distribution and Storage) Affiliates finance team and prepare & review reporting schedules to support quarterly / annual external financial filings and management reporting process for the GDS Affiliates team.

What you will do:

  • Assist with complex accounting and accounting research for GDS Affiliates finance group and liaison with various groups, enterprise wide.

  • Lead in identifying, resolving and escalating as needed any potential accounting issues to ensure timely resolution and accurate financial information in external filings.

  • Assist with review of Contracts prior to execution, assessing accounting implications.

  • Assist with month / quarter end close processes as needed

  • Synthesize complex accounting issues and be able to explain their impacts to management.

  • Help identify and lead implementation for process improvements.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of US GAAP.

  • Ensure controls and processes are properly maintained and SOX compliance is achieved.

  • Ensure affiliate cost recovery process is adhered to and ARC compliance is achieved.

  • Oversight and support for GDS affiliate operating and capital budgets / forecasts.

  • Ongoing support of ad hoc request and special projects as needed.

Who you are:

  • University degree in a business or accounting program.

  • Possession of professional accounting designation (CPA) with 4+ years of directly related experience.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proven oral and written communication skills both to technical and non-technical stakeholders including being able to present to senior management.

  • Proven interpersonal skills in dealing with and obtaining cooperation from others.

  • High level of personal and professional integrity.

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP.

  • Experience with public practice accounting, technical accounting/accounting research and/or external financial reporting would be highly beneficial.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment.

  • Fast paced office environment with multiple, concurrent activities and projects.

  • Critical deadlines affecting quarter-end and year-end, may require periodic overtime, as necessary.

  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.
