What You Will Do:
  • Lead relocation, replacement, and reinforcement projects from initiation through construction completion, including project justification, scope development, cost estimation, collaborator engagement, progress communication, and field construction support.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including Operations, Stations, Customer Connections, Corrosion Management, and Utilization to plan and complete capital projects on time and within budget.

  • Review engineering drawings from municipalities and developers to proactively identify and address conflicts with natural gas infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Provide regional project support including job package preparation, Extended Alliance prioritization, inspection scheduling, and tap truck coordination.

  • Develop Procedures of Work and Work Permits to ensure safe execution of complex construction projects.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with municipalities, attend meetings, review engineering plans, negotiate resolutions, and compose infrastructure relocations to mitigate impacts.

  • Work with external collaborators including government agencies, engineering firms, consultants, developers, and utilities to resolve field issues.

  • Address and resolve customer, municipal, and utility complaints related to construction activities in a timely and professional manner.

  • Participate in emergency response related investigations

  • Lead internal project teams or initiatives as required.

Who You Are:
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil), or CET designation with 4 years or more of relevant experience in pipeline construction.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple projects concurrently to meet strict deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and project-related information clearly to a wide range of collaborators.

  • Demonstrated leadership and business insight to effectively support and drive capital project execution.

  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively in group settings and sustain solid interpersonal connections.

  • Customer-focused mentality with the ability to address concerns and build trust with various collaborators.

  • Project management experience, including finding opportunities for improvement, resolving issues proactively, and maintaining collaborator alignment.

  • Solid understanding of CSA Z662 Gas Industry Codes and Regulations, along with company policies and procedures related to gas distribution systems.

  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Gas Pipeline Inspection certificate is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:
  • Split between office and fieldwork, during all seasons and weather conditions. A valid G License and responsible driving record is needed.

  • Travel beyond a set geography is required occasionally.

  • Provide on-call standby coverage as part of the Regional Operations rotation - evenings and weekends is required.

Salary Range: $81,090- 90,000 CAD*

*Internal applicants may refer to applicable compensation policies. Salaries are determined based on education, experience, certifications and skills.
