What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior Manager in IT and Technology Due Diligence and Execution, you will play a key critical leadership role advising corporate and private equity clients on technology risks, opportunities and value creation across the deal lifecycle, including post-merger integration and separation. You will lead buy side and sell side IT, technology, and software due diligence engagements, shape investment thesis, inform deal decisions, and help clients unlock post close value.


You will be accountable for end to end engagement delivery, deal insight quality, and client relationships, while contributing to the growth and evolution of Deloitte’s Technology M&A offering.


Senior Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Due Diligence Leadership: Lead end to end IT, technology, and software due diligence engagements across acquisitions, divestitures, carve outs, integrations, and separations, serving as a trusted advisor to private equity and corporate development leaders while framing deal hypotheses aligned to the investment thesis, scalability, risk exposure, execution readiness, and value creation potential.
  • Technology and architecture assessment: Assess enterprise IT, digital and product platforms across applications, architecture, cloud and infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and AI, and IT operating models, with a particular focus on technical debt, platform scalability, operating maturity, and product roadmap credibility for software intensive and PE backed targets.
  • Value Creation & Deal Economics: Identify, quantify, and translate technology driven value creation opportunities into deal economics through standalone cost analysis, synergy and carve out modeling, TSA strategies, and clear post close priorities including 100 day plans and longer term transformation roadmaps.
  • Deal Execution & Day 1 Readiness: Support M&A execution by connecting diligence findings to Day 1 readiness and early post close execution, including separation and integration planning, TSA scoping, technology stand up considerations, and sequencing of post close initiatives to reduce deal risk and accelerate value realization.
  • AI & Emerging Technology Considerations in Diligence: Evaluate the role of AI and automation in the target’s technology and operating model, including data readiness, AI enabled product capabilities, cost and productivity opportunities, risk considerations, and implications for valuation, integration complexity, and post close execution.
  • Engagement and Stakeholder management: Own scope, economics, risk and delivery quality for large and complex transactions, communicating technical findings in clear, investment-oriented language. Establish and sustain long-term relationships with top decision makers at key clients, and colleague across Deloitte Canada and globally.
  • Sales and business development: Lead business development activities, manage pursuit teams, and proposal development while building durable relationships with private equity sponsors and strategic buyers to drive sustained revenue growth.
  • Develop core offering expertise: Use experience in M&A and IT to enhance our methods, and develop new services, eminence and point-of-view documents
  • Talent development and Practice Leadership: Develop and mentor high performing people and teams by coaching junior practitioners, providing input for project staffing and supporting recruiting activities

M&A Due Diligence and Execution

Our M&A team offers expert guidance to corporate and private equity clients in navigating complex growth and divestiture scenarios. Our services encompass M&A strategy and transaction diligence, integration and separation planning and execution, as well as transaction financing. IT and Technology Diligence and Execution is part of Deloitte’s M&A Offering, within our broader Strategy & Transactions practice.
Our Technology Diligence Specialists focus on value creation and operational risk in each transaction to help ensure technology enables successful deal outcomes. The practice supports both buy-side and sell-side engagements. It assesses people, processes, applications, infrastructure, operations, spending while considering industry-specific factors. The team also supports cybersecurity reviews, carve-out and stand-up planning, and integration or separation readiness. Using a metrics-driven approach, they align technology insights with deal thesis, inform investment decisions, and help clients unlock value across the transaction lifecycle.
Deloitte’s M&A Execution practice delivers comprehensive advisory services comprising Strategy, Operations, Finance, Human Capital, and Technology experts. Our practitioners are involved in all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including strategy, due diligence, readiness, pre- and post-close integration/separation planning and execution, and follow-on transformation.
We are actively growing our team in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.


Technology experts


Technology is a key driver for value realization and transformation in every M&A transaction. Our IT M&A team helps clients with developing and delivering the strategies and approaches required for deal success. As well as driving the overall integration planning and execution program leveraging experience, playbooks, and frameworks, the team also provides subject matter knowledge across critical components and functions of IT. This includes networks; infrastructure, data centers and cloud; application migration, development and management; IT strategy and planning; operations and service management; enterprise architecture; end user computing; data and information management; vendor management and outsourcing; cyber/security, IT risk and IAM; key enterprise systems such as ERP, HCM, CRM, etc.), and IT operating model design. Our practitioners perform business process, and systems analysis and design to help achieve objectives including integration, separation, migration, rationalization, or to achieve IT synergies / value realization.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who has:

  • 8-12+ years of experience in management consulting, venture capital / private equity, or related experience delivering M&A advisory / IT diligence projects
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver IT M&A engagements across the M&A lifecycle including due-diligence, pre-close, and post-close merger integration or separation
  • Strong understanding of Private Equity deal dynamics, including speed, risk prioritization, and value creation orientation
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise technology environments, digital platforms, cloud, cybersecurity, and IT operating models
  • Experience developing standalone cost assessments, synergy cases, and carve out estimates
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical findings into clear investment implications for senior executives
  • Strong executive level written and verbal communication skills, including PowerPoint based storytelling and effective use of financial models
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high performing teams
  • Knowledge of IT and enterprise technology systems, functions, and structures (see Technology experts’ section for list)
  • Strong relationship management skills, including partnering with senior executives to define how they approach M&A - in alignment with their corporate strategy - to create value and enable them to compete effectively in their industry
  • Passion for improving internal processes, advancing market eminence, and shaping the evolution of Technology M&A services
  • Ability to strategically leverage Deloitte approved AI and analytics tools to enhance insight quality and delivery efficiency
  • Proven oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (i.e., MS PowerPoint & Excel modeling)
  • Superior hypothesis-based problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Knowledge and interest in key industry trends and ability to guide clients on concepts for M&A engagements
Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $126,000 - $234,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
