Your typical day will be dynamic and engaging, encompassing various responsibilities to ensure a seamless and impactful experience for clients and team members alike. You will oversee hospitality and venue operations, partnering with senior management to strategize and execute plans for the Toronto Conference Centre and Bistro experience. You'll lead key projects, leveraging your extensive expertise in the hospitality industry, and spearhead process improvements and change management initiatives for the National Orbis Events Team. Additionally, you will manage relationships with clients and partners, plan and execute complex events, and mentor a team of event planners to achieve excellence. Your role will be pivotal in fostering collaboration, ensuring operational efficiency, and delivering high-quality experiences.
You will be accountable for delivering an exceptional hospitality and event experience across the Toronto Conference Centre and the national Orbis ecosystem. This role supports the Senior Manager in the strategic planning and operational delivery of the Toronto Conference Centre and Bistro, while providing hands-on oversight of day-to-day operations. You will lead and support key initiatives, applying deep hospitality industry expertise, and drive process improvement and change management for the National Orbis Events Team by developing and implementing operational models, best practices, and enhancements. Acting as the operational link across all Podium spaces-including Deloitte University, Greenhouse, Bistro, Podium Club, D Studio, and the Conference Centre-you will ensure an integrated and efficient approach. Responsibilities include collaboration and quality control on reimagined Bistro offerings and client experience, support for agile conference space utilization, vendor management of onsite hospitality partners including SLA oversight and monthly invoicing, and the creation and active management of governance and process documentation. You will manage relationships with key enabling areas, oversee common area activations in alignment with brand standards, ensure all scheduled events run smoothly, and serve as the first point of escalation for any operational or guest experience issues. In addition, you will lead end-to-end planning for complex, high-impact events at the Toronto Conference Centre, manage client and Partner relationships, support event planning for Orbis offices in Montreal and Vancouver, bring a creative, experience-driven mindset, ensure logistical compliance with building standards, and act as a subject matter expert for hospitality and events across Deloitte Canada. You will also lead and mentor a team of event planners, assigning events, ensuring procedural adherence, fostering team engagement, and supporting development and achievement of KPOs.
You are someone with these required skills, experience and qualifications:
- 5+ years proven success with complex event management and delivery
- 5+ years hospitality and facility management experience
- Strong people management skills with a team building approach
- Proven ability to form, leverage, and manage productive relationships and work effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly matrix environment
- Strong strategic-thinking and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task various projects and manage varied clients
- Consultative and solutions oriented; foster cooperation and collaboration; build credibility and trust
- Proven experience taking the initiative to apply judgement within the parameters of role, take decisions and take action
- Ability to effectively manage up, down and across
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- General understanding of Delphi, Cvent
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $156,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
