Forklift Operator- Fastfrate (Port Coquitlam)

Role Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the loading, unloading and storing of customer freight in a safe and efficient manner.

Hours of Work:

• Shifts vary Monday to Sunday- Days, Afternoons & Overnight
• Shifts vary from 8 and 10 hours shifts

Hourly Rate: $25.68/hr

Key Accountabilities:
In this role, you will:

• Operate a forklift to safely load and unload freight from trucks
• Use pick sheets to determine which skids will be shipped
• Confirm that inbound freight is received by either scanning the product or completing inbound forms
• Verify the packing labels for accuracy of product being shipped
• Report any damaged freight or quality concerns to the Facility Supervisor
• Attend daily shift meetings and complete stretches
• Pick, sequence and pack product according to customer’s requirements using racks, carts, plastic totes, boxes or gaylords
• Manually unload products or empty racks from trailers
• Manually load freight into trailers
• Meet all efficiency requirements as determined by the SOP and the Warehouse Manager

Other Duties:

• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience:

• Forklift license
• 1 to 2 years as propane forklift driver

Skills & Attributes:

• Experience in transportation is an asset
• Clear criminal record
• Ability to operate a forklift safely
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively
• Good time management skills
• Creative and effective problem-solving ability
