Supply Chain Management at CAMH is currently seeking a casual, Support Worker. Reporting to the Supervisor of Supply Chain, the successful candidate will be responsible for the timely distribution of supplies throughout the Queen Site. These supplies may consist of linen, mail, and items ordered both internally and externally. The timely delivery of items to all areas of CAMH is required.
External deliveries, the transportation of medication, specimens, mail, and other items between sites and to satellite locations is required. It will also include patient transportation to appointments and outings. This position does require interaction with clients of CAMH. The timely reporting of maintenance and safety issues regarding the equipment is required. The ability to follow the Safety protocols and the policies and procedures of the department is essential. This position involves walking, repeated bending, heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling, in accordance with the physical demands of moving materials. This position may require reassignment to other areas within the Supply Chain Management Department. This position may require shift rotation and weekend work. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is currently located at 1001 Queen St.
Candidates will have a Secondary School diploma, with at least 6 months of relevant experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to problem solve and work efficiently and effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong customer service skills when dealing with both clients and staff are required. The ability to work to strict deadlines and handle multiple priorities is essential. Previous experience with tuggers and pallet movers is considered an asset. Current “G” (cars/vans) and “B” (bus) driving licenses are an asset. Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
