THE ROLE

As the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition and Retention at CFMWS, you will shape the strategies that attract, engage, and retain the exceptional people who support the well‑being of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community. In this leadership role, you’ll design and deliver a multi‑year talent strategy, guide a high‑performing team, and champion innovative recruitment marketing that amplifies our employer brand across the country.

You will influence organizational priorities, partner with senior leaders, and use data-driven insights to strengthen workforce planning, onboarding, internal mobility, and long‑term retention. If you are a strategic HR leader who thrives on building programs, creating meaningful impact, and contributing to a mission-driven organization, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of talent at CFMWS.

The ideal candidate for the position will work in a hybrid capacity based in Ottawa, Ontario. However, we are open to considering applicants who wish to work remotely from another location within Canada. Flexibility in work arrangements is available for exceptional candidates across the country.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field AND some years of experience in a related field

Experience

In planning, coordinating, managing and controlling recruitment programs and activities

In developing and implementing HR strategies and theories

In managing recruitment programs and initiatives

In delivering or organizing talent acquisition strategy with organizational priorities and labour-market realities

In planning and conducting training and presentations

In providing advice and guidance

In personnel administration

In budget administration

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (English and French) Essential

Reading: Advanced

Writing: Advanced

Oral: Advanced

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager. However, we are open to considering applicants who wish to work remotely from another location within Canada. Flexibility in work arrangements is available for exceptional candidates across the country.
