THE ROLEThe Senior Financial Analyst provides financial services support directly to the Finance Business Partners or as directed to the divisional entities within CFMWS. It is all about enabling the Finance Business Partners or their clients to make data informed decisions. The main goal of a Senior Financial Analyst is to create and build financial models and templates to provide real time financial support that has an impact. They pull data from financial systems and create costing reports or financial models, Business Plan Templates, and/or Business Plan reports. They track Business Plan submissions or service level agreements and break down financial elements. They perform variance analysis on budget vs. actual, initiating adjustments, and presenting various results to management. They use financial software applications to produce dashboards, presentations, business plans, or briefing notes for new business activities to support the Finance Business Partners. They also update data on various models to ensure accurate reports.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field AND several years of experience in accounting, financial management or a related field
AND
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, an asset
Experience
In cost analysis
In budget administration
In using Accounting Information System
In applying and interpreting policies, procedures and legislation
In drafting and analyzing reports
In expenditures and resources management control
In developing and maintaining financial systems and reporting tools
In working with financial and non-financial partners.

OTHER INFORMATIONThis is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
