THE ROLEAs a Cyber Security Officer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s information systems and infrastructure. This senior position focuses on security incident response, security engineering, and the administration of SIEM and SOAR platforms to ensure rapid detection, analysis, and remediation of threats. You will lead efforts to implement and maintain advanced security solutions across diverse technologies and environments. Your responsibilities include:- Security Incident Response: Investigate, contain, and remediate security incidents, coordinating with internal teams to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
- Security Engineering: Deploy and manage robust security controls, tools, and integrations to strengthen the organization’s defense posture.
- SIEM and SOAR Administration: Configure, optimize, and manage SIEM and SOAR platforms to enable automated detection and response workflows, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Monitor network and system activity for anomalies and indicators of compromise.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to security infrastructure components.
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or a related field AND several years of experience in IT security or a related field
Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification, GIAC or equivalent certification, an asset
Experience
5+ years of experience in Cyber Security operations.
Hands-on experience with SIEM and SOAR administration (design, configuration, tuning, and maintenance).
Proven track record in security incident response, including investigation and remediation.
Expertise in implementing and managing security solutions across multiple platforms and network infrastructures.
Strong knowledge of intrusion detection systems, firewalls, TCP/IP, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Experience in technical documentation and operational runbooks.

OTHER INFORMATIONThis is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
You may be eligible to receive a Scarce Skills Premium for this position as outlined in the attached IT Scarce Skills Compensation Agreement.
