THE ROLE

The Manager, Human Performance is responsible for the leadership, delivery, evaluation, and reporting of local Human Performance programs and services tailored to meet the needs of CANSOFCOM Unit members. They collaborate and align with a diverse group of stakeholders to optimize human performance and support operational effectiveness.

The Manager, Human Performance leads and mentors a multidisciplinary team, manages resources and personnel, and fosters a culture of excellence in physical, dietetics, and mental performance. Through this integrated approach, the team delivers an operationally relevant, holistic approach to human performance, measured against established performance indicators.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Master’s degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Sports Medicine, Sport Psychology, Performance Nutrition or a related field AND several years of experience in the development and in the delivery of human/high performance programs and services or a related field

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Sports Medicine, Sport Psychology, Performance Nutrition or a related field AND in-depth experience in the development and in the delivery of human/high performance programs and services or a related field

AND

Maintain required professional certification specialties (e.g., RD, CSSD, MD, Physiotherapy, CSCS-NSCA, CSEP-CEP, CSPA)

Experience

In managing, planning, controlling and evaluating the development and delivery of evidence based applied human performance programs and services

In developing, managing and mentoring human performance practitioners

In leading the development, trial, evaluation and implementation of innovative ideas in an corporate and applied setting

In managing the use of human performance technology

In group facilitation, training and team building

In networking with stakeholders and service providers

In presenting briefs and reports

In business and financial planning

In budget administration

In project management

In personnel administration

In marketing programs and services

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential or French Essential. Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Reading: Advanced

Writing: Functional

Oral: Advanced
