A full suite of financial solutions, tailored to the realities of our Canadian Armed Forces Members and their families, is offered through the SISIP Financial division within CFMWS. In addition to conventional insurance, investment and financial advice products and services, we pride ourselves in delivering preventative financial education and, where required, counselling, to support our members’ financial wellbeing. SISIP Financial services are available to Canadian Armed Forces Members both virtually and in-person. We have 23 offices located in CAF communities across Canada. THE ROLE

The SISIP Financial Counsellor (FC) provides support and advice to serving Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and their spouses on personal financial money management. Additionally, they provide financial education and knowledge building information sessions to individuals and groups. The FC conducts discovery-based conversations to determine lifestyle needs, goals and support requirements for financial assistance. The FC helps clients to stabilize their financial status and achieve their financial goals by working closely with them to monitor and adjust their financial plan and provide the ongoing support and education to support this. The FC builds strong ties with the client community and generates awareness of SISIP Financial, its mission, services, policies, and procedures. As a long-term relationship builder, you will provide proactive and professional support to help our clients build a financially secure future while making informed and prudent choices about their current needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related field

Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada (AFCC) designation, an asset

Experience

In personal lending
In debt or financial counselling
In dealing with litigation matters and negotiations
In making assessments and referrals to other professionals
In organizing and delivering presentations

RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor client accounts to ensure the relationship is properly managed, compliant and adheres to regulatory and/or service requirements.

Work with manager to develop and manage the business plan, establish strategies, targets, and goals including business and partner development activities and marketing campaigns in the assigned territory.

Conduct presentations, deepen partner relationships and develop and retain client relationships with CAF members and families.

Provide military members and their spouses/families remedial, preventative, and informative financial counselling.

Develop a referral base in order to make assessments and referrals to other professionals’ e.g. social workers, chaplains, credit counsellors, bankruptcy trustees.

Develop and implement individual plans to correct and facilitate proper money management.

Provide guidance and counselling to facilitate the management of the client’s financial affairs in accordance with the corrective plan, and to offer further assistance through scheduled monitoring interviews.

Ensure maintenance of required licenses, compliance of ethical behaviour and adherence to corporate policies, industry standards and regulations.

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location. The employee must be able to work 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Friday.

Salary plus Employee Performance Plan.
