THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Sports and Facilities Coordinator, the Facilities Assistant organizes and schedules the use of programs and services within the Personnel Support Programs facilities. He/she monitors and maintains consumable sports inventory, and performs minor maintenance on fitness/groundskeeping/ice maintenance equipment. The Facilities Assistant prepares reports such as arena ice schedules, maintenance schedules, equipment logs, machinery and mechanical maintenance logs. He/She also inspects equipment and facilities for safety and takes corrective action, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma AND some years of experience in a sports and recreation environment

OR

An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered

AND

Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification

Valid Driver’s Licence (Saskatchewan)

Experience

In maintenance and repair of sports and fitness equipment

In maintaining grounds, buildings and facilities

In operating and maintaining lawn equipment

In ice maintenance procedures

In operating ice rink equipment

In servicing motorized equipment

In personnel administration

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential /Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Reading: Functional

Writing: Functional

Oral: Functional
