THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic, independent and motivated individual to join our team at the Military Communications & Electronics Museum!

The Digital Media and Marketing Coordinator plans, develops, publishes and measures social media content (text, visuals, photo, videos) across a variety of platforms and ensures content aligns with the social media strategy and business goals. They develop and maintain a social media content calendar, and make recommendations to maximize the social media strategy. They create, monitor and help grow business presence across marketing channels such as, but not limited to, print advertising, newsletters, social networks and social sharing sites.

The Military Communications and Electronics Museum is a must-see attraction in Kingston with over twenty thousand square feet of gallery space devoted to not only telling the story of members of the Military Communications and Electronics Branch both past and present, but also the Royal Canadian Electronic and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME has their own section of gallery space).

The displays within the Museum depict the history of Canadian military communication throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. The development and application of communications technology by the highly skilled troops has been both ground breaking and lifesaving. We take great pride in what the members of the Military Communications and Electronics Branch of the past, present and future, have and will continue to accomplish. The museum is an accredited Canadian Armed Forces museum associated with the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics at CFB Kingston.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, AND several years of experience in social media

Experience

In planning, organizing, developing, delivering, and evaluating marketing opportunity and initiative

In social media platforms and trends

In researching and developing marketing focused social media and email marketing initiatives

In impact and social media trends analysis

In making recommendation and providing advice in marketing

In applying policies, procedures, and regulations

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Reading: Functional

Writing: Functional

Oral: Functional

OTHER INFORMATION

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

The anticipated term of this position is 1 year with potential for renewal.

Expected hours are 18.5 per week. Posted salary is prorated to reflect this.
