Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Community College Diploma in Security, Law Enforcement, or related field.
• Leadership/Management certificate or degree.
• Private Security and Investigator’s License (Ontario)
• Member of International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) - preferred
• Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific security (e.g., IAHSS best practices), emergency management, and de-escalation techniques.
• Minimum 5 years in hospital/healthcare security with 2+ years in leadership preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and inter-professional care team
• Demonstrated ability to promote staff development, quality improvement programs and patient and family centered care
• Ability to lead and implement change effectively
• Ability to prepare briefings and provide updates to leadership
• WHMIS/HAZMAT Training
• Multi-Agency Senior Officer Training (EMO)
• Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear & Explosive (CBNRNE) Training
• Emergency Management Assistance Team (EMAT), MoHLTC
• Use of Force Training
• Hand-Cuff Training

• All management positions require strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills, as well as extensive on the job experience
• Oversee day-to-day operations of Security, Parking, and Heliport services to deliver optimal safety and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all legislation (OHSA, etc.), policies, and standards.
• Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of team members.
• Develop and implement parking strategies and emergency preparedness plans.
• Liaise with external partners (police, fire, EMS, etc.) and attend legal proceedings as required.
• Collaborate with Executive Council, Directors, Mangers, Supervisors/coordinators, Professional Staff, Charge Nurses and front-line staff
• Other related duties as assigned
