The Cardiovascular Labs (CV Labs) at Rockyview General Hospital is currently recruiting a permanent Part Time Administrative Support III/Clerk III for the Electrocardiography and Echocardiography department. The Clerk III is an essential part of the healthcare team and works to ensure efficiency in the day-to-day operations of the CV Labs. The Clerk III is responsible for management and processing of patient referrals in accordance with Path to Care guidelines. Greeting and checking in patients arriving for appointments is a key aspect of this role. The incumbent must possess sound computer skills and be comfortable using a variety of IT systems used to manage referrals and book patients. The incumbent must possess strong intrapersonal skills, demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate in stressful situations, and consistently execute attention to detail in work performance. This role also requires a strong ability to multi-task, successfully complete work while managing numerous interruptions, demonstrate flexibility to learn workflows associated with each diagnostic area or clinic, and independently implement problem solving strategies. Additionally, the Clerk III will maintain Alberta Health Services privacy standards at all times thereby prioritizing patient confidentiality. As such they will adhere to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and the Health Information Act. Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) is Calgary’s second largest tertiary care site. Located in the city’s Southwest, it provides acute, outpatient, critical care, surgical, medical, neonatal intensive care, mental health, seniors, women’s and emergency health services. The facility is home to two units dedicated to the Acute Geriatric Units (AGU) for the Calgary Zone. Each year, RGH sees approximately 47,000 Medical Outpatients.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Graduate of an accredited Unit Clerk or Medical Office Assistant Program. Medical Terminology Course. Proficiency with the following IT systems: Connect Care; Excel; Word; Outlook; Internet Explorer; Netcare. Previous Unit clerk or administrative assistant III or IV experience. Ability to type 45-55 words per minutes with 95%+ accuracy. Ability to lift up to 20lbs. Ability to walk through unit. Ability to sit for most of the day, if needed. 1 year of previous healthcare related administrative experience withing the past 2 years.

Connect Care: Ambulatory Unit Clerk / Schegistrar and Cardiology Scheduler of Non-invasive Procedures roles. Previous Cardiovascular Lab experience including scheduling of procedures within past 12 months. Previous experience booking cardiac diagnostic testing. Customer service experience preferred. Minimum 3 months of ambulatory experience in the last 2 years preferred.
