The Northern Alberta Urology Centre (NAUC), located on the 7th Floor of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic (KEC), has a vision to provide state of the art urology care in an academic and research environment. We are seeking an experienced, innovative and motivated Booking Clerk interested in applying your knowledge and skills to make a difference in the lives of patients and staff. Working under the direction of the NAUC Management team, the Booking Clerk is a key member of the NAUC multidisciplinary team who is responsible for scheduling of clinical appointments and ambulatory procedures. Working in collaboration with the Referral and Triage team, the incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain all records associated with appointment scheduling at the Northern Alberta Urology Centre. This position entails greeting patients, answering multi-line telephones, coordinating the flow of patients and providing comprehensive clerical support in a busy clinic setting all while ensuring the patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. This role includes: scanning and filing of charts, scheduling of appointments for numerous Urologists, verifying patient information and coordinating test requisitions as directed. This position involves flexibility in day to day responsibilities. The incumbent will be expected to work in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Successful completion of Medical Terminology required. CPR Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS - HCP) required. Minimum of two years experience in a health care based organization (medical office or hospital setting) is required within the past 5 years. Requires excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook e-mail and Calendar is required. Demonstration of excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet timelines with minimal supervision required. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility are required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment. Required on occasion to transfer or transport patients and equipment, which may involve pushing or pulling over 50 lbs. Walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods frequently required. Required to be able to lift equipment and/or deliveries for transport to the appropriate team members. Requires experience and skills with telephone answering and trouble-shooting calls. Previous data entry experience required.

Connect Care, NetCare and Tandem experience preferred.
