What Is The Opportunity?

Aecon is seeking a Project Manager - Risk, to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support dynamic, transit projects in Canada. We are proud to support projects that are committed to faster and more convenient travel, ultimately improving transportation experiences. This starts with bringing aboard the best possible team!

What You Will Do Here

  • Accountable for ensuring all construction project management activities are successfully executed including:
    • Transition to construction, monitor and establish construction infrastructure and critical path.
    • Establishing and maintaining project budget.
    • Enforce change procedures.
    • Establish schedule and staffing plans.
    • Negotiate and executes contracts and agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Ensure project reporting is accurate.
    • Project risks and issues are logged and managed.
  • Assist in facilitating risk review meetings.
  • Coordinate with Risk Manager in developing risk register and assist in updating risk register.
  • Assist in preparing inputs for risk modeling.
  • Incorporate the results of the Quantitative and Qualitative Risk Analysis into the forecast.
  • Understand and comply with risk, compliance, and safety policies and ensure compliance with same.
  • Ensure reliable, effective collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

What You Will Bring to The Team:

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or equivalent discipline.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the rail industry is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in a construction management-based role with a focus on project risks.
  • Strong knowledge of risk and compliance principles as well as legal regulations preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and PowerBI.
  • Experience with Saffran and Monte Carlos is considered an asset.
